We view our principal challenge as providing long-term solutions in the face of rapidly changing technology. We measure technology by what it does for people. Does it matter, for example, how data is stored? Of course it does, but only insofar as it can be retrieved efficiently and effectively and further, that it be reliable. As a result, we are less concerned with database performance benchmarks than with reliability and total cost of ownership. Here are questions we focus on: Does the technology work?
