The Burgiss Group understands the dependency our clients have on our systems and services. We also understand the need to have these systems and services available even under unexpected circumstances. The Burgiss Group is dedicated to continuing critical business processes under power outages, fires, floods, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, and other natural and man-made disasters. The Burgiss Group would like to inform you that we have a plan in place to safeguard your information and maintain business continuity. The vision of this plan is to continue daily business functions without any noticeable disruptions to the company and its clients.
All of the company locations (Hoboken, NJ and Paoli, PA) as well as its business partner (Datapipe, Newark, NJ) have disaster recovery plans. Each location has its own specific plan and test schedule. The locations also follow company-wide guidelines disaster recovery from a variety of scenarios.

Business Continuity Planning Guidelines
This plan describes the steps that will assure the continuity of business for the Burgiss Group in the face of unexpected disruptions. These disruptions include, but not limited to, unplanned evacuations, power outages, major water leaks, fire, severe weather, intentional acts, and any facilities failures that may cause business interruptions.
The following key processes have been identified and contingency plans created to over prolonged unexpected disruptions:
- Establish a list of mission critical systems, and backup/restore/recovery procedures for each one
- Review of risks associated to disruption of a particular system and/or service
- Alternate communication between The Burgiss Group and its clients
- Employee safety plan and communication
- Alternate telecommunications accessibility
This document will cover the fore mentioned areas and the current implementation plans. It will also act as a guide to help determine what steps should be taken when disruptions occur. |

Contingency Planning and Business Recovery
The Burgiss Group mitigates risks to reduce impact due to unwanted occurrence. In the event of a disruption, The Burgiss Group will implement tested and proven procedures to restore its business functions to fully operational levels unless otherwise stated. The Burgiss Group's recovery plan also includes the following:
- Contingencies for inclement weather - If there is a forecasted weather emergency, company employees are instructed to remain in their homes. In addition, remote terminal services are available for the employees' use. The notification list will be used by senior management to notify their subordinates on what actions to take.
- Designated contingency site - Datapipe Managed Hosting Services (Datapipe) has been designated as the Primary site for all of company's hosted solutions. In case of a disaster, the alternate site, Hoboken, NJ, will be become primary. This will be in effect until the recovery process is complete. The goal is to eliminate disruption time.
- Notification to clients - Clients will be notified in the event of a major disaster.
- Access to your data - A site outage should not impact the clients' ability to access their data. It is understood that in the event of a major disaster business functions may not operate at full capacity.
The Burgiss Group's Business Continuity Plan is reviewed by as necessary and at least annually to ensure the plan accounts for technology advancements, federal regulatory changes, operations, facility changes, any and all changes incurred by the company.
